Where are the cottages located?

The cottages are located on the east side of Seneca Lake near Watkins Glen. Zoom in on the map below to identify which styles are located throughout the property.

Are the apartments available for rent?

Yes, the cottages are leased for 12-months at a time. We have two Airbnb’s for nightly stays. If you're interested in renting, please submit a rental inquiry ASAP.

Can I see photos of the houses?

How are the houses heated?

Each house is heated with a propane-fired cast iron imitation wood stove, which is controlled by a thermostat in the living room. All of the cottages are incredibly warm. The heat circulates throughout the house really well, and there is also electric baseboard heating in the downstairs bedroom and bathroom.
 

What are average utilities? 

We anticipate a monthly bill of $95 for electric and gas. (Water is free.)

Are there any additional fees?

You're in luck. We don't have any maintenance fees. Tenants pay for gas and electric; there are no other fees besides that.

Are the apartments dog-friendly? Do you allow pets?

We allow up to three pets per cottage and have a dog park. No pet deposit is required, but we strictly require that all dogs must get along well with other dogs and be on a leash outside of the dog park. Only well-behaved pets (cats and dogs only), please.

Are the houses handicap accessible?

The front entrance and first floor are handicap/wheelchair accessible. There are no steps to enter the house and the doors are wide enough to navigate a wheelchair. The second floor has a staircase leading up, and therefore is not wheelchair accessible. 

 

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a security/damage deposit equal to one month's rent is required upon signing the lease and the first month’s rent is dues 7 days before the start of your lease.

Can I review a lease?

Yes, check out the La Bourgade on Seneca lease. If you're interested in renting, submit a rental inquiry, and we'll send you a completed lease for your review and signature. 

Do you have other locations?

Yes, Boiceville Cottages is our sister tiny house community in Brooktondale, New York. Located 15 minutes to Ithaca, New York, Cornell University, and Ithaca College, Boiceville Cottages has 140 tiny rental houses, two dog parks and is home to many graduate students, couples, families, and seniors. 

Are there nearby grocery stores, restaurants, and wineries? 

Yes. Lucky for us, the closest destinations are award-winning wineries and distilleries that have beautiful views of Seneca Lake. Our favorites are conveniently less than a mile away from La Bourgade on Seneca: Atwater Vineyards, Finger Lakes Distillery, and Damiani Winery.

Other nearby destinations include:

  • Two miles to Stonecat Cafe

  • Seven miles to Watkins Glen

  • 16 miles to Trumansburg

  • 20 miles to Cayuga Medical Center

  • 25 miles to Ithaca, New York and Cornell University

  • 28 miles to Corning

For groceries, TOPS Market and a Walmart Super Store are located in nearby Watkins Glen.
